Port of Olympia Invites Applicants For Citizens Advisory Committee Alternates

first_imgFacebook0Tweet0Pin0 The Port of Olympia Commission is seeking applicants for two alternates to the Port of Olympia Citizens Advisory Committee. When a regular committee member cannot complete their term, the Commission appoints an alternate to assume that term as a regular member. Alternates are invited to Citizens Advisory Committee meetings and are included in Port communications to the committee. Committee terms cycle in June of each year. This year there are no regular positions open on the committee. The Citizens Advisory Committee comprises 12 citizen volunteers who meet periodically, or as needed, to address assignments from the Commission. Individual members also may be asked to participate with Port staff on a range of Port programs and projects. The committee has contributed citizen advice and assistance to the Port since the Commission formed it in 1994.Applicants must be Thurston County residents. A Port Commissioner, the Executive Director and the Chair of the committee will interview applicants and recommend appointments of the alternates to the Commission.
